Interferential Muscle Stimulation
Muscle stimulation therapies are a safe and effective way to reduce pain and decrease muscle tension. Interferential muscle stimulation or Interferential current (IFC) is used for deep tissue pain relief and muscle relaxation. This system uses 4 electrode pads placed directly on the skin surface that supply a gentle current to induce mild muscle contractions and stimulate sensory nerves to decrease pain. Given its increased frequency and intensity, it is not available for use at-home like the commonly used TENS and EMS devices.
IFC is commonly used to relieve pain from:
Osteoarthritis
Herniated Discs
Tendonitis
Neuropathic pain
Chronic neck or back pain
Sports injuries
